CD. SONEROS DE VERDAD. AMÁRRATE!

Although the band has remained true to the traditional Son Cubano, it has developed this musican genre further and charted new territory. All of the CDs released by Soneros de Verdad contain mainly pieces composed by the band's members. Luis Frank writes Son, Mayito Rivera Timba, and Nicolás Sirgado Trova tunes. Working together, these artists inspire and eke one another on to exceptional heights of creativity. Guillermo Rubalcaba, now 87, insisted on once again making a contribution. In the title song Amárrate! (Fasten Your Seatbelt!), he keeps up well with his younger colleagues, and in the romantic ballad Por el Amor de una Mujer he shows what really counts. To make sure that this mixture of old and new really works perfectly, Luis Frank fetched yet another talented star of the Latin music scene on board to round out his six-member elite ensemble: none less than the singer MAYITO RIVERA. Rivera had spent 20 years as the front man and face of the legendary LOS VAN VAN.
